(More customer reviews)This was a gift, and quickly became my most used item in the kitchen. I slice salad fixings with it on a daily basis, and also use it to make thin slices of hard cheese. People who came over for dinner commented on it so frequently that I bought them for everyone this past Christmas. The hand guard is pretty much useless, though--I threw it away long ago. Just be careful your digits don't get to close to the razor sharp blade. By the way, I've used this for about 2 years now and it's still sharp.
