(More customer reviews)Upon opening the shipping box, the stench of the paint/lacquer on the onion basket was so strong, and transferred to my hands, that I would never consider using it for storing produce, its intended use. As we consume mostly organic produce and definitely need non-refrigerated storage containers, this attractive set (hence the one star) was desired. Basket also had reed ends with sharp points sticking up, which could scratch you when you reached for the lid. I hope Amazon will be able to find another non-toxic source. The baskets are made in China.
